Meet the Team
Fall 2025 Recruitment Committee
Michael HayHey! I’m Michael Hay, a 5th-year student in my final semester. I'm originally from Melbourne, Australia, now living in Houston, and studying Finance, Operations & Supply Chain, and Marketing. I joined DSP in Fall 2022 as a sophomore with no clear direction, just hoping to find something meaningful. It wasn’t part of my college plan, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. DSP has been a launchpad for personal, social, and professional growth. It introduced me to lifelong friends, sparked my interest in consulting, and opened doors I never expected, such as competing in case comps in Norway, working abroad in London, and landing a full-time role after graduation. Above all, I’m grateful for the people. I’ve been surrounded by ambitious, driven friends who’ve pushed me to grow, and now I get to pay that forward. If you’re rushing, my advice would be to take the time to learn from every interaction. This process is a rare chance to connect with people from all walks of life. And if you see me around, say hi—I’m always down to meet someone new!

Christiana SchmidtHi! My name is Christiana Schmidt, and I’m from Greenville, SC. I’m majoring in Finance and Risk Management & Insurance here at Darla Moore. Coming to USC from a town not too far away, I was fortunate to arrive with some familiar faces. While this provided comfort, I quickly realized the importance of branching out and building new, meaningful relationships at the university. Initially, I also struggled with figuring out my professional path, as I switched into business relatively late. Joining DSP has been instrumental in shaping both my career aspirations and the lifelong friendships I was seeking. The friendships and mentors I’ve found through DSP have had a profound impact on my confidence, inspiring me to explore career interests in clubs like the Freshman Finance Academy and the Gamecock Consulting Club. Beyond professional development, brothers have fostered my personal growth, strengthening not only my career goals but also who I am as a person and as a friend. This journey started as early as recruitment week, and I hope to see you there!

Jay PatelHey guys! My name is Jay Patel, and I am a brother of Delta Sigma Pi here at the University of South Carolina. I’m majoring in Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain, with a minor in Mass Communications and a concentration in Data Analytics. When I arrived on campus, I was determined to find a community where I could create meaningful, lifelong connections while growing personally and professionally. Joining Delta Sigma Pi has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college journey. It has not only given me lifelong friendships but also helped me explore future career opportunities and develop a strong professional foundation. I’ve been inspired to join other impactful organizations on campus, such as the Darla Moore School Ambassador Program and the Gamecock Consulting Club. These opportunities have allowed me to hone my leadership, networking, and teamwork skills while representing the values I hold close to my heart: service, professionalism, and brotherhood. Outside of school and career-focused activities, I’m passionate about golf, house music, and finding ways to make a positive impact in every community I’m part of. I look forward to continuing to grow, give back, and make the most of my time here at USC!

Gabe StrykerHello! My name is Gabe Stryker, and I am a sophomore studying Finance and Accounting. I am originally from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and during my first semester on campus in the fall of 2024, I was looking for a community that would help me become the best version of myself. I attended a group information session with all the business fraternities and immediately knew that Delta Sigma Pi was exactly where I wanted to be. Not only has this organization brought me lifelong friends who support me through thick and thin, but it has also provided mentors who genuinely care about my future, even helping me change my major. Since joining Delta Sigma Pi, I have been motivated to get involved in many areas on campus; I became an Honors College Peer Mentor, joined the Carolina Fund, and even played on the winning team of the men’s intramural soccer championship this past semester. Delta Sigma Pi has supported my transition to college in ways I could never have imagined, and I can now confidently say that attending the first night of recruitment changed my life. The first step is just to show up, and I hope to see you soon!
