DAVID  BALDWIN

INITIATED: SPRING 2015

I'm currently working in Marketing & Advertising in NYC. Through DSP I gained amazing friends, amazing memories, and professional experience. My great network of friends led to insane stories of living, traveling, and attending music festivals with brothers.

Talent  Management,
Discovery Inc.

INITIATED: FALL 2014
GRADUATED: FALL 2018
DSP taught me that life is about people, which thankfully gave me a compass for the rest of my decisions in college. You figure out early on in pledging how to learn something from just about anyone. First it can be like pulling teeth but then you find a rhythm and figure out that you get to learn something from everyone. One, that’s freaking AWESOME! And two, you kind of realize (in waves because sometimes you think you’re the bees knees) that you’ll never know everything which makes the unknown must less scary and so much more exciting! So to reference Frozen II, DSP taught me to feel comfortable in the unknown (or at least embrace it).

Matt Crandall

business technology analyst,
deloitte Consulting

INITIATED: SPRING 2016
GRADUATED: SPRING 2018
DSP gave me the opportunity to meet the people that I would spend the majority of my days with during college. I met my best friends through this organization and was exposed to a variety of experiences that I wouldn’t have had without DSP. It provided me with the tools and skills that I needed to pursue and obtain the career that I’ve always wanted. It set me up with a network of people who only wanted to see me succeed, just as much as I wanted to see them, as well. The people I was surrounded by helped me through the interview process that landed me my current organization. My classes throughout my time at UofSC were impactful and gave me a great foundation, but I can 100% say that I learned and grew more from Delta Sigma Pi.

MitchEll  Hilbrands

Digital Marketing analyst,
Red Ventures

INITIATED: FALL 2016
GRADUATED: SPRING 2019
DSP taught me a lot about mentorship and how to not only take advice and constructive criticism, but how best to give it as well. DSP has introduced me to lifelong friends, mentors, and mentees and having that core group of people to rely on and work with in college was an absolute honor. Learning the switch of being humorous and being professional has helped a lot in the workforce as coworkers and managers respect and appreciate someone that they can just enjoy being around but also can rely on to get the job done. Being held accountable in the organization has merged into my work life and that constant feeling of ownership, and responsibility has allowed me to advance to higher-responsibility roles within my team and make more of an impact each day contributing to our team's performance.

Madisyn  horton

Business Development,
Oracle NetSuite

INITIATED: SPRING 2017
GRADUATED: MAY 2019
DSP challenged me to get to know myself on a deeper level- to ask questions that I had never thought of before. As a brother, I was given opportunities to lead, mentor, and learn from some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. My best memories of college are with my brothers, and I cannot imagine my time at USC without each of them. My brothers taught me how to handle conflict- how to articulate my opinion and graciously discuss topics with those whom I didn’t agree with. The interviews taught me how to be a real listener- which ultimately led me down a career path in sales. The Fraternity set me on the right track toward discovering what I’m capable of and aligning my goals with the right career- I wouldn’t be where I am without DSP.

COLIN  MORSE

Sales business analyst,
NESTLE

INITIATED: FALL 2013
GRADUATED: SPRING 2015
The chain of events that led me to where I am started with pledging DSP. Surrounding myself with highly ambitious people pushed me to be the best version of myself, personally, academically, and professionally. This led to great academic partnerships, professional development, internships, and finally the ability to secure a job with a great company post graduation. DSP gave me the opportunity to surround myself with individuals with very high professional ambitions. DSP became my closest group of friends, classmates I could count on during group projects, and mentors to help guide my job and internship search. I have worked in the Bay Area in California, Portland, Oregon, and most recently Cleveland, Ohio. I have lead a team of 20 truck drivers, sales reps, and merchandisers and managed a $17m sales territory. I am currently in my third rotation with Nestle as an analyst for the National Director of Retail Execution.

AMIT  PATEL

CYBER-ANALYTICS CONSULTANT,
DELOITTE & TOUCHE LLP

INITIATED: FALL 2015
GRADUATED: SPRING 2019
I believe you are the average of those you surround yourself with, and I surrounded myself with people who took being driven to the next level. These people became my closest friends and acted as a family away from home that would always be there for me no matter what. The organization and the members in it gave me the confidence I needed to realize my true potential. It constantly pushed me to my max, and helped me realize that I should never settle for less. The thing that makes this organization even better is that no matter a person's age or experience, they all played a role in guiding me to what I wanted out of my future.

Madelyne  Paulk

pursuing Master's of Global Luxury and Management,
 North carolina state university

INITIATED: FALL 2016
GRADUATED: FALL 2018
In undergraduate, DSP pushed and encouraged me to grow both personally and professionally. The relationships I formed with brothers made me reflect and inspired me to go outside of my comfort-zone. DSP connected me with amazing individuals who supported me throughout school and continue to uplift me now. It was because of DSP that I was presented with numerous opportunities to meet high ranking professionals and felt confident enough to work a room. In my graduate program, I am constantly communicating and networking with highly influential executives. I credit DSP as the reason I am able to stand out amongst my peers. My ability to network, follow up, and build relationships has helped me gain job offers and opportunities. From recruitment to holding an exec position, my experience with DSP has made me better professional.
